TAMPA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheater will now be known as the Live Nation Amphitheatre at Florida State Fairgrounds, at least for now, the Tampa Herald-Tribune is reporting.
The venue, formerly known as the Ford Amphitheater, picked up the unweildy 1-800-Ask-Gary moniker as a part of a three-year naming rights deal with local political insider and Dr. Gary Kompothecras, who runs a physician and legal referral service at 1-800-Ask-Gary. Kompothecras declined to renew the deal, but declined to explain why.
"The contract was up," Kompothecras told The Herald-Tribune. "I don't have any other comment."
Originally opened in 2004, the 10,000 capacity amphitheater hosted performances last year by artists including Rush, Rascal Flatts, Rob Zombie, Toby Keith and KISS. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
