ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Center City Church in Altoona is providing 15 to 30 thousand pounds of free food to people in need on Saturday.

"This should be a blessing to families in need for Easter weekend," says Pastor Jim Kilmartin.

Church leaders say people can drive through or walk up to the Brownstone Church building, located on 12th Avenue, at 2 p.m. but must practice social distancing guidelines.

"We have been getting a lot of requests from people in need. We want them to know that we are here as a community resource and that there are a lot of people that care. We have to get through this as a community, and we will."

People are asked not to come in groups and that one person per family picks up the food.
