Brian, whose height is 1.88 m, asked his fans to sign a petition called 'Tell the Beach Boys to Say No to Trophy Hunting!' on 3 February 2020. Sources revealed that the Beach Boys were set to perform at the Safari Club International Convention in Reno, Nevada.
The co-founder of the American classic rock band opposed to the headlining of the convention 'this organization supports trophy hunting' where the groups would be performing.
Beach Boys released a statement to the organization:
"Is and always will be equally dedicated to both the conservation of wildlife and the right to free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment. As such, we support the right of anti-hunting petitioners to protest our convention, but we hope they understand how much more they could achieve by working with us instead of against us.”
By 4 February 2020, the petition garnered around 90,000 signatures. However, fans have been amazed by the incident with a frequent question, "Wouldn't it be nice if all the Beach Boys, stayed away from those who kill for fun?"
