CFA announces over $425K in funding for dozens of area nonprofits

This week, the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies announced more than $425,000 in funding for local nonprofits.

The funding was announced at two separate events this week.

The foundation announced more than $225,000 in funding for its spring recipients.

First, on Wednesday, at the Somerset Historical Center, the organization recognized 14 projects in Somerset County receiving grants.

Then on Thursday, at the Everett Free Library, eleven nonprofit groups were recognized for getting nearly $43,000 in funding.

On top of that, for the first time in the organization's history, they also announced $100,000 each to the endowments of Bedford and Somerset counties.

Officials also announced 34 projects in Cambria County and 8 multi-county projects getting funding, totaling more than $134,000.
