Authorities in Fulton County are providing new details on the investigation into the "suspicious" death of an infant child.

Last week, it was reported that the body of an infant was found along the roadside, in McConnellsburg Borough, on the morning of March 11th.

Now, officials have identified the child as an infant male, weighing approximately four pounds and was "estimated to be 36-37 weeks gestational age."

Authorities also determined that the infant was reportedly born less than 24 hours before being found.

Investigators say an autopsy has since been performed and the child's cause of death is pending the results of the autopsy.

The Fulton County coroner's office says state police are continuing to investigate the baby's death and are attempting to speak with passerbys who may have been in the area at the time that the child was found.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
