FT. LORAMIE (CelebrityAccess) –Mike Barhorst, founder of the Country Concert in the Hills festival, died at his home last week. He was 77.
Billboard reported that Barhorst's family said he died at his Fort Loramie home on Wednesday.
Barhorst and his wife launched the Hickory Hill Lakes Campground in 1971 and starting in 1981, began hosting the Country Concert at Hickory Hill Lakes as a family gathering. Since then grown into a major three-day country music event that draws some of the biggest names in country music and more than 80,000 fans a year.
This year's concert, slated for July, features a lineup that includes Blake Shelton and Florida Georgia Line.
