INDIANA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Indiana County say the suspect responsible for causing an officer-involved shots fired incident last year at an area university has pleaded guilty in the case.
Last October, police arrested Cameron Raubaugh following an investigation into an officer-involved incident in the parking lot of IUP's George P. Miller Stadium.
Police say Raubaugh reportedly called 911 and falsely reported a robbery in the parking lot.
When a campus police officer arrived at the scene, officials say the officer encountered Raubaugh, who was masked and wielding a knife.
Investigators say Raubaugh "charged" at the officer, which caused him to fire his gun.
Police say Raubaugh later admitted to wanting to be killed by police.
On Tuesday, Raubaugh appeared in court where officials say he pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault and false reports.
The Indiana County District Attorney's office says Raubaugh also pleaded guilty to trespassing on IUP's campus, months after the initial incident.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in late July.
