Is a Second Tournament of Power on the Horizon?

May 2024 · 3 minute read

The first Tournament of Power that started in Dragon Ball Super episode 97 marked a significant event in the multiverse’s history. With the primary objective for Grand Zeno to filter out weaker universes, the universe-wide clash culminated in Universe 7 emerging victorious. This victory saw Goku unlocking Ultra Instinct and Vegeta unveiling his Ascended Super Saiyan Blue form, backed by impeccable teamwork from teammates.

Universe 7’s Potential Domination

If another Tournament of Power were to be announced, Universe 7’s fighters, with their enhanced skills and formidable strength, would be a force to reckon with. In the wake of the first tournament, Goku and Vegeta have reached unfathomable power levels, making Universe 7’s overall mortal ranking ascend.

With Goku mastering the True Ultra Instinct technique, his battle efficiency would be unparalleled, allowing him to harness both the offensive and defensive merits of Ultra Instinct. Meanwhile, Vegeta’s recently acquired Ultra Ego technique, although still in its refining phase, promises him a vast reservoir of power, making him an offensive juggernaut in the tournament arena.

Spotlight: Broly and Gohan

Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan, brings unmatched potential to the table. Having surpassed Goku and Vegeta in their god forms in his cinematic debut and currently undergoing training to control his immense power, Broly could very well eclipse every fighter in the tournament. Gohan, another powerful contender, has reached new heights with his Beast transformation, enabling him to overcome formidable adversaries like Cell Max. This transformation sets Gohan on a par with the power scales of Goku and Vegeta.

New Entrants and Reinforcements

The Super Hero movie introduced us to Piccolo’s fan-favorite Orange transformation. This upgrade catapults Piccolo to Saiyan-like strength levels, coupled with his unique abilities, making him a potential MVP in the forthcoming battle royale. Gamma 1, the strongest android, along with a possibly revamped Majin Buu, could play pivotal roles, tackling weaker opponents and providing essential support to the main fighters. Merus, with his mastery over Ultra Instinct, and Granolah, the sharpshooter with formidable power, would further bolster Universe 7’s lineup.

But the most unpredictable element is Frieza. His recent transformation, termed Black Frieza, empowers him to a degree where he can overwhelm even the strongest like Goku and Vegeta. With such overwhelming strength, Frieza could very well be Universe 7’s trump card.

The Unknown Variables

While Universe 7 boasts of an impressive roster, the potential of fighters from other universes remains a mystery. To ensure riveting battles, it can be assumed that these fighters would match Universe 7’s strongest, barring perhaps Frieza’s newfound might. Moreover, considering the universes that sat out from the previous tournament due to their high mortal level, the challenges awaiting Universe 7 could be unprecedented.

In conclusion, should another Tournament of Power take place, Universe 7 undoubtedly has the arsenal to reign supreme. But the unpredictability of the multiverse ensures an epic clash awaiting fans.
