Ex-Therapist Who Spent $40K For Psychic App On Patients' Credit Cards Spared Prison Time

Former therapist and owner of Counseling by the Sea in Ocean City Ashley Crooks, 32, has been admitted to pre-trial intervention, a spokeswoman for the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office told the outlet.

Crooks, of Ocean City, used stolen credit card information to receive psychic readings from an Internet app, a criminal complaint cited by the outlet said.

Crooks was charged with unlawful use of credit cards and theft by deception, the outlet said.
