How did Isabela Merced start her Professional Career?

Merced pursued her passion for being an actor after being inspired by the movies starring Shirley Temple and Judy Garland. She began performing in community theatre at the age of six and had her Broadway debut in the Spanish-language production of Evita with Ricky Martin at the age of ten.

In September 2015, Merced also published an album under the name of Stopping Time, which was created by Broadway Records. From 2014 through 2016, Isabela appeared in her first television series starring role on Nickelodeon’s 100 Things to Do  Before High School. Additionally, she provided a character’s voice for Dora and Friends: Into the City.

Merced had appearances in the Nickelodeon films Legends of the Hidden Temple and Splitting Adam before joining the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight in June 2017. She contributed a character’s voice to The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, which was published on August 11, 2017.

Merced played the daughter of a drug cartel lord in Sicario: Day of the Soldado, which debuted in 2018. She performed well, and the critics particularly applauded her expressive eyes. Isabela Merced also contributed a song to the movie Instant Family and made an appearance in it. She starred in Let It Snow and directed Dora and the Lost City of Gold in 2019. Alongside Jason Momoa, she starred in the Netflix film Sweet Girl.

In honor of her late grandma, Merced, formerly known as Isabela Moner, declared on Instagram that she had changed her stage name. In November of that year, she also dropped the music video for her debut single, “Papi.” Isabela Merced first released “Papi” in October of that year. She released her debut EP, “The Better Half of Me,” in May 2020. She was named one of the top fifteen new Peruvian singers to listen to by Billboard.
