Jenna Dewan is opening up about her split from ex-husband, Channing Tatum, in her upcoming memoir, Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day. E! published new excerpts from her book that shed a light on what exactly she was going through.
The 38-year-old revealed that she and Tatum broke up right before filming the second season of World of Dance, which Dewan hosts. She dealt with speaking about her ex-husband on the red carpet for the show, while secretly going through the separation. The couple announced their split officially in April of 2018.
In October of 2018, Tatum announced that he was dating singer, Jessie J, something Dewan claims she had no idea about until it hit the internet. "I was learning things about my ex most people wouldn't have to face–and over the internet, as it was happening," an excerpt reads. "There I was, on a plane, alone, finding out about his new relationship. I felt blindsided. Choosing grace as I learned everything about my personal situation along with the rest of the world was really difficult."
Though she felt blindsided by the situation, she found the man of her dreams shortly after. "When I was ready, I started dating someone amazing," she wrote about her boyfriend, Steve Kazee. "It was this cosmically great thing where we circled back around each other after a moment of instant recognition years ago."
Gracefully You: Finding Beauty and Balance in the Every Day releases on October 22.
