Blair County court officials say the civil lawsuit involving former Bellwood-Antis wrestling coach Ryan Blazier is now expected to be settled outside of court after the jurors in the case were dismissed.

The civil trial against Blazier and the Bellwood-Antis school district was expected to begin this week after a lawsuit was filed on behalf of one of Blazier's victims.

The lawsuit argued that the school district shared responsibility for Blazier's actions for which he was later convicted of.

In October of 2021, Blaizer was found guilty of sexually assaulting two students while he served as a coach for the district.

Blazier is currently serving a 21 to 42 year prison sentence on charges of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under 16, institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors, and intimidation of a victim or a witness in a child abuse case.

A second civil case involving Blazier's other victim is still pending.
