The Bryce Jordan Center is hosting the United States Olympic wrestling trials this weekend.

Men and women in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling are competing for the chance to represent the USA in Paris this summer.

Seventeen former and current Penn State wrestlers will compete this weekend.

The trials started at 10 a.m. on Friday and several Nittany Lions have already advanced to the second round.

Bishop McCort sophomore Jax Forrest also wrestled his first round already, beating Liam Cronin 10 to nothing.

"It seems like everything's just falling in place where I want it to be so, just grateful, coaches, training partners, everything's going good and I'm just super excited for everything," Forrest told 6 News immediately after his win.

Forrest then lost to Olympic bronze medalist Thomas Gilman in the quarterfinal round.

He will now wrestle Daniel DeShazer in the consolation bracket Friday night.
