STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- East College Avenue near the Nittany Mall has reopened after PennDOT crews fixed a sinkhole that was discovered Saturday.

PennDOT said crews have filled the hole with stone and concrete and have paved the roadway.

The road had had been closed since Saturday when the sinkhole was discovered.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials said the sinkhole was 4 feet by 5 feet wide.
