Shakira has teased fans by releasing a photo of herself dressed as a beautiful bride.

The Colombian-born singer, who has been dating Spanish football player Gerard Pique for three years, was filming the video for one of her latest songswhen she decided to share the snap with her 24million Twitter followers.Leaving fans in the dark about the exact details of her song, Shakira left the photo uncaptioned and drew all attention to her angelic wedding dress.

The songstress is pictured standing outside on the steps of what could be a church or cathedral, and gazes out into the distance. Shakira has opted for a full length, ruffled wedding gown which features a feathered skirt and slightly pleated bodice.

Posing in the flattering light with her luscious mane styles into loose waves, Shakira looks younger than her 37 years. The blonde beauty completed her look with a floaty veil and natural makeup.

The picture comes just a few days after Shakira posted another image from the same video, where she is pictured running in green fields, again dressed as a bride. "By the way [sic] that's me," she wrote on the photo with an arrow pointing to herself.

"Shooting the video for my new song Empire!" she captioned the picture.

The social media savvy singer has been encouraging fans to send in photos to show just how excited they are about the countdown to her new album, which will be released on 25 March. Eager followers have got into the spirit, tweeting photos of themselves having tattoos done of Shakira's name, snapshots of the Latina on magazine covers and images of newspaper cuttings about the songstress.

While Shakira and Gerard, who have a one-year-old son Milan together, have never walked down the aisle, the photo will no doubt have had fans wishing for a wedding announcement soon.
