State College, PA (WJAC) — State College Borough's plan to demolish an iconic bar in town, The Brewery, to make way for more parking is sparking controversy.

At this week's borough council meeting, the council approved measures to use eminent domain to acquire the building where the Brewery and other businesses are located.

Building owners say they didn’t know anything about the plans until a few hours before the meeting.

The borough issued a statement saying they want to work with property owners on temporary and long-term solutions.
