LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — R&B singer/songwriter SZA has, temporarily at least, been pulled from the lineup of record label Top Dawg Entertainment’s Championship Tour.
In a post to his social media on Tuesday, TDE president Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith noted SZA’s absence on several recent tour stops and said that she had been pulled from the tour due to vocal issues.
“I got some bad news. I have to take SZA off for a few days on the tour. Her vocal chords are swollen and she have [sic] to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage,” he wrote in the Instagram post. “We been monitoring her close and this is the reason she missed the Arizona and New Mexico dates.”
“She’ll see the doctor again in a few days and I’ll update you guys on her status,” he added. “As for the dates she missed, we’ll figure out a way to make it up to you guys.”
The Championship Tour, which features Schoolboy Q. Hell, SZA and other Top Dawg artists, has only been on the road for a few weeks after it kicked off in Vancouver on May 4th. It’s next scheduled stop is Atlanta’s Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood on May 25th, followed by Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, NC on May 26th.
The tour closes out on June 16th with a show at KeyBank Pavilion in Pittsburgh, PA. SZA is (was) currently touring behind her 2017 hit album CTRL.
