Tickets On Sale Now For Mahopac Historic House Tour

September 2024 ยท 1 minute read

The Massaro House was inspired by Wright's designs for a canceled Petra Island house project.

Originally a storage facility for the New York Central Railroad, the Freight House stored blocks of ice cut from Mahopac Lake. Following restoration and renovation, the house is used as a historic site and cafe.

The Whipple House was built in 1900 and has been restored as originally built. It also features a collection of material related to Putnam County's history.

Tickets for a tour of all three houses are $85 and include light refreshments and garden croquet. Tour times are 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Boat transportation is included courtesy of Mahopac Marine and the Melchner Family.
