Celebrity couple Victor Webster and Shantel Van Santen have finalized the terms of their divorce, but there’s a twist. PEOPLE reports that court documents filed on July 1 indicate Hallmark’s Victor Webster and FBI’s Shantel VanSanten have reached a divorce settlement that includes both their assets and the custody of their dog Nova. The agreement includes sole ownership for Webster but extended visitation for VanSanten.

VanSanten will be required to share Nova’s location with Webster every time the dog is in her care according to the terms of the agreement, which also states that if she takes the dog for longer than three weeks, she’ll be required to pay a $10,000 fine for every day she’s late to return Nova to Webster.

On top of Nova, the couple also shared two cats, Finnegan and Phillippa. They will now be cared for by Webster’s brother Vince, with VanSanten paying Vince $1,500 per year as long as the cats remain alive and under his care.

The couple will also sell their LA home and split the proceeds. Neither party is set to receive spousal support, but VanSanten will pay Webster $25,000 to equalize the divorce.

Webster and VanSanten originally met in 2017 on the set of the Hallmark movie Love Blossoms, where they played love interests Violet Chappel and Dec Granger. They dated for four years and got engaged in February 2020 before finally tying the knot in August 2021. They had three different wedding celebrations at the time, with the first one being an impromptu civil ceremony outside the Pasadena City Hall in California on Aug. 9 — to commemorate her grandparents’ wedding date, according to Brides.

A year and a half later, however, in January 2023, their marriage was over, with the couple filing for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Both actors turned to social media to seemingly refer to the end of their marriage, with VanSanten sharing a quote on Instagram stories on July 1st that read in part: “Let go. Don’t allow yourself to get comfortable existing in spaces where you know you deserve better. Love is not meant to hurt. Love is not meant to be given in the bare minimum… There is power in letting go of anything that is forcing you to let go of yourself. Don’t ignore what you know in your heart.”

Webster meanwhile, shared his own quote to his Instagram story a day later, on July 2nd. It read: “Once you grow up, you realize you don’t want to be crazy in love. You want to be calm in love, stable in love, patient in love, understood in love, safe in love. Your partner should give you peace of mind and reassurance, not constant little heart attacks and high anxiety.”

Van Santen stared as Nina Chase in FBI and then FBI: Most Wanted.  Webster has starred in Hallmark movies like Homegrown Christmas, Hearts of Winter, Five Star Christmas, and the Matchmaker Mysteries.
