  Stefani’s early years of fame are inextricably linked to her romance with her No Doubt bandmate. They dated for seven years before splitting in 1994 much to the dismay of heartbroken fans.

  Kanal spoke about working with Stefani during their breakup in a 2012 interview saying, “We were going through the breakup, and in every interview we were talking about it so we were opening this wound on an hourly basis. It was so brutal but I don’t know how we made it through.”

  The former couple have remained on good terms and even reunited with their fellow bandmates to release an album in 2012.

  Stefani began dating the Bush frontman in 1995 before marrying in 2002. The couple welcomed three sons but ended up splitting in 2015 amid cheating allegations. 

  The relationship between the exes have been somewhat confusing. In 2017, Rossdale praised Stefani. “We had 20 years together and that in itself is pretty incredible,” he told The Sun. “It’s a lifetime. I still think she’s incredible.”

  In 2020, he told The Guardian that his most embarrasing moment was: “the gross and lopsided spectre of the crumbling of my marriage.”

  But things got a little awkward in 2023 when Rossdale stated that he doesn’t “co-parent” with Stefani, saying: “I think we just parent.” He added: “We’re really different people.”
